CZECH NIGHT

Czech night was taking place on 15th January in our Mladinski center. We promoted our night by posters and facebook event. We did not have any idea how many people will attend. Finally maybe 25 people came.
First I would like to say thank to all people who came and supported our event. It was really important for us and it showed us, who is really interested about our culture and also who is interested in us.
One of the biggest ,,thanks" belongs to our turkish friends- Hasan and Ugur, who came from Valenje (150 km) and without them our evening wouldn’t be what it was. Also I was really glad , how many people came from our slovenian circle. I was really happy to see you there! I can not forget to say thanks  also people from ŠENT (centre for mental health) who came. They had known us just one day and despite of the bad bus conection  (some of them  could stay just 45 minutes) they came! I really appreciate this!
and thanks also our slovenian friends who supported us and helped us with preparation!!

So our evening started with welcome drink- Slivovice and people really liked our czech version :) In Slovenia, they have also Slivovica. After we were presenting our country. We started with short powerpoint presentation about czech stereotypes, some comparions Czech/Slovenia and after we continued with some funny movie. I hope visitors appreciate our way of presenting (funny videos about our presidents- Václav Klaus and pen:), Miloš Zeman and his ,,medical" condition during visit of crown jewels).
But we also showed some interesting czech people, places which are in Unesco an so on.
After presentation we started with beer degustation and degustation of czech food.
So the most popular beer was PERLA :) and the worst was STAROČECH :) but generally people really liked our czech beers. We had about 15 different types of them so I think everybody enjoyed this degustation. Visitors also really liked BRAMBORAK, which I cooked and what almost nobody liked was UTOPENEC. But I was not surprised of Utopenec, because I think that the taste is really specific.:)

I hope everybody had nice evening and thank you again for your support!

Happy new year!

Hello everybody!
I am back with my adds:) All the best for the coming year! I hope you enjoyed Christmas holiday and you are full of energy.
So when I should start... Ok. Before Christmas we organized our second own event. The name was Izmenjava oblačila- Clothing swap. Here is short report and some photos:

Clothing swap bazaar was taking place on 14th December in Šotor pred Primorko. The main target was to swap the clothes, toys and books with the other people. The rest of the stuffs will be donated to the Hospital in Stara Gora. We were really happy that a lot of people came with their clothes, toys and books. But not so many people wanted to swap, so in the end we had lot of stuffs for Hospital in Stara Gora. The director of hospital was really pleased and happy, so everybody who came with their stuffs can have nice feeling for helping people in need.
We would like to thank everyone for their generosity. We hope that next time more people will come and will want to swap their clothes or help the disadvantaged people.

Our first hademade poster

I think this event was really good. Not so many people came with their stuffs, but we had a success. We got a lot of clothes from young man and the director was really happy because of that- they really need large men´s clothes. We plan to do this event again.

So this was before Christmas. We left in Czech aroud 18.12. but before we had our Postojna´s chrismas with Adam:) We found one tree in the forest who was already cut and instead of holder for tree we used summer wheel :)

Our Christmas tree- haha:), my first christmas cookies

Kdo jiný může obdarovat svoji přítelkyni prdicím polštářkem :D

And after our Christmas it was time to go to Czech! We shared our car with other two very nice girls- we found them in prevoz.org( slovenian version of Spolujizda) Journey was really funny, because our car got some special shaking disease. When we were over 90 km/h the car shaked like really old washmachine. We were afraid that car will fall apart but fortunately the way from Slovenia to Czech is almost always downhill. So we knew that we would reach the czechboarder at least by gravity.(It says Adam, but I know that our red car is strong guy who has never disappointed!)
We had amazing time there and I would like to say thank you my family for everything :-*
Here are some photos from czech Christmas (more for my friends from abroad)

Our Christmas tree- a little bit better than my and Adam´s in Postojna:)) and presents:)

We had a lot of fun also with our friends. I would like to post some photos here, because I know that they are reading this blog:)

Hi to very good readers of my blog! Enjoy your Sunday:)
and Hi to bad readers of my blog! But I give you second chance! If you let me know that you recognized yourselves I will reveal your faces- otherwise I will erase your phone numbers! :)

And also celebration of New year for excelent! Thank you all

But now we are back in Postojna and on Wednesday one big event is going to be! and it is CZECH EVENING! We bought a lot of czech beers, cheese, sweets and so on and we will present our country on Wednesday. We wanted to do something not so big, but today we got email that also television will be there:) and because we put on the posters that the beer degustation will be there, almost everybody who we know told that he/she will come:) So I am really excited and I hope that everybody will enjoy it!
This is all for today because today I am not so in english mood:)

Winter time

Time is going so fast... We have been here 4 months and 4 days and on Thursday we are going to Czech!! I can not wait! I am really looking forward. I don´t miss language, I don´t miss food, I don´t miss weather, I don´t miss nature, no, I just really miss czech people. I can not wait to have svařák (hot wine) with my friends in the best christmas market in Brno and I can not wait to go for cheap beer or wine to the my most favourite pubs in Brno. I can not wait to spend christmas time with my family without thinking about school- after 5 years!! Juchuuu, so just 3 days more and WE ARE COMING!!
Ok and what did we do last months?

So first, we finally visited Venice. One of the most popular place in Europe we had missed in our travelling map so it was time for visitting. Not so many turists, nice weather- not cold not hot, and it is just 2,5 hours from Postojna.
We took one day of holiday and we could go. But first we stopped for Saturday afternoon in Gorizia for the biggest market which I have ever seen. But nothing special, it was just really big. But after- because we arranged accomodation just for night from Sunday to Monday in Venice we took couchsurfing chance! I have to say that it was again very difficult to find somebody (like in Sardinia, but in this case I started to arrange really late) but finally we found and it was very nice experience. We slept in some village in the Italy/Slovenia border and the guy was really nice. He was almost 30 years old and he and his girlfriend try to live in very natural way. He told us that they just spend about 35 euros for food per month! I couldn´t believe! They have field, and their parents have field so they can take almost all food from this. So we tried homemade prosciutto, homemade wine, cheese, and everything was amazing!
So next day we woke up quite early to continue to Venice. We arranged accomodation not in the venice centre but just 15 minutes from city. It was very good choice- we slept in some camp in Bungalov and it was very clean and we paid only 26 euros for both.. We expected really high prices in Venice but we were really surprised, because everything was cheaper that in other popular places which we have visited.
I really like Venice. It is romantic place. I would like to come back during carneval, because when I saw all this carneval masks I could imagine how gigant and delightfully it has to be!
So after Venice we were coming back to Postojna and we stopped in popular beach in LIdo di Jesolo.

But I didnt visit just these amazing places, I visited also DOCTOR. Because one of the my best friend- my atopic ekzem came to visit me again but in stronger version I was forced to visit dermatologist. I got suggestion to go to Ljubljana so I was looking for some doctor in the internet and I was really in shock about waiting time- I saw 650 days, 400 days and I was really afraid that I will have to wait so long. But for self payer it is different so I had to wait just 2 weeks. But:) price for just one meeting is 70 euros!!! crazy:) but doctor was very nice, but she gave me the same like in czech.. She told me come in 6 weeks- I had to ask her, if I paid again 70 euros- no no (Uf) it will be just 50 :D haha- just 50- why not... ok but the bigger shock was in pharmacy where I paid more that 100 euros! I couldnt believe! crazy. Yes, for me it is ok, I have insurance which covered it , but for the others here???? crazy...I think that czech health system is really good... In Ireland it was terrible, here it was sooo expensive...

So, this is all for today, because I am quite ill and I am going to the bed:) but I am planning to write next one this week, so see you here:) or in czech -:)

Amazing weekend

Ok, I am in "English mood" so I will try to write other add in English. It is really strange that I am writing my blog today, because I am totally death:)
We had very nice weekend and I would like to say thank you everybody from Škofja Loka:)
Our weekend started with the best event for me and it was wine celebration in Ljubljana. Everybody who knows me, has to know that it is something what I can not miss:) So we took a car and went to Ljubljana on Saturday. We did not go alone but with other two Slovenian girls who found us in prevoz.org. Prevoz.org is very important web site in Slovenia and it is something like jizdomat.cz in Czech republic. So we got some money from them so we weren´t so poor in Ljubljana:)
Wine tasking was amazing!Maybe only for me, because Adam couldn´t drink so much because of driving. I think I tasted about 30 different types of wines. I really like it, especially Traminec and Muškat. I don´t like czech muškát, but this Slovenian was really good.
I have a little bit of problem with slovenian event, because everytime I can not find price of event. It was same with this wine tasting but fortunately I paid just 10 euros and when I gave them my glass back I got 10 euros back:) So it was free.

After wine tasting we went to very cute coffee house for amazing cappuccino. We had some more time so we went to shopping centre because I really need to buy winter shoes. But of course we did not find anything:(
But main event during this weekend should have been:
Večer Slovinsko – Českého přátelství s kocerty / VEČER SLOVENSKO ČEŠKEGA PRIJATELJSTVA S KONCERTI
so after shopping we moved to Škofja Loka for this event. It was in similar Mladinski center like in Postojna, but quite bigger. We met bulgarian volunteer girl who we already met in Arrival training and also one Latvian guy , so we weren´t lost there:) I don´t like this kind of music but it was interesting. Czech band was quite too loud for me so I went outside to play hand football. Outside were more people than inside. You should know that in these kind of places  you
usually can find like 20% of visitors in the concert hall, 15% in the place where the bar is and 65 % outside because in Slovenia it is forbidden to smoke inside so every smoker is outside and because almost everybody smokes, everybody is outside:D
And outside I met one czech girl who has lived in Slovenia for 3 years because of her slovenian boyfriend. He was very cute, because he can speak really good czech language:) and it was really funny. I also met one slovenian girl who studies czech language and she was also really good.
About 3 a.m. we went to sleep to evs flat which was in the city centre.

We woke up about 8,30 and at 8,30 we had a meeting with Mateas- the boss of evs group in Škofja. We were supposed to leave for hiking trip about 9 a.m. but because of fast italien and spanish participent we left about 10 a.m. and late we found out that this one hour was very very important.
But finally we were complete and we could start our trip.
We were 10 people. Me,Adam, Anastasiya from Bulgaria, Janez from Latvia, Italian guy, Silvia from Spain, Morgan from England, and three slovenian guys. WE took our car and went 40 km to the mountain. The weather supposed to be very nice but it was afwul. Fog, cold, you couldn´t see anything.. So we parked our car and went to the highest peak in this region- Porezen- 1630 m. so higher than highest peak in Czech:) The tour was quite difficult for my breath and my legs and the weather was so awful... But I had not kept hoping for better weather and this hope helped me to continue. And finally, after 2 hours of really steep hill we could see the top and 15 metres before top the sun was shining!!I couldn´t believe! Amazing inverse! We could see magnifiques scenery. I was really happy! So we took a rest on the top, we took a little bit of sun, but there was already snow so we continued to the cottage where we were eating hot soup and drinking some schnaps. BUt we stayed a little bit longer and from this moment it started to be really funny:)
Foggy weather- the worst one for me

Suuuuunn

Last meter in fog

Triglav

Matyas decided to try different way. It should have been shorter way. But because of fog, because of sunset, after one hour we were lost.. But I am not surprise. I don´t know if it is because I am spoiled of czech perfect and clear marked hiking trails, or if there is other reason but I am really confused from slovenian marked... You don´t know how long you will go, how far it is, and you can find signpost just once for whole trail... So I love czech marked hiking trails!! Thank you people who do it :)

So sun was almost over and we were walking in the dense forest. But we were still with our smile, somebody because of schnaps, somebody- like me because of hot soup and inverse. Finally we found one cottage in the mountain and they helped us- IT IS only  20 minutes!! Ok, it was, if you took the right way and we wouldn´t take, because in other cottage they said something different.
But finally at 6,30 p.m. we found our cars!!!
It was very nice hiking trip. I really enjoyed it. I was really tired and I am still tired now but the view was awesome, the company was really funny and I am really glad to meet this group.
So thank you so much and see you again!!
